It was considered that hyo was the source of all human conducts in Confucian ethics Its status in Confucian ethics is implied in the meaning of 'favoring in parents and child relation' one of Oryun which are the fundamental norms in Confucian ethics It represents the primitive love and respect in interpersonal relations and is the origin of other four norms of Oryun 'favoring in parents and child relation' is realized by the reciprocal execution of parents' love and filial piety
